Citrus Caramelized Onion and Thyme Burrata

Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large yellow onion, sliced
½ teaspoon orange zest
½ teaspoon orange juice
½ teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
Pinch salt and black pepper, or to taste
2, 4-ounce balls burrata
Orange zest and thyme leaves for garnish
Toasted or grilled baguette slices for serving
Orange slices or segments for serving
Preparation
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add the onions and stir to coat with the oil. Reduce the heat and stir the onions occasionally until they are softened and golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes.
Stir in the orange zest, orange juice, and thyme. Add the salt and pepper. Remove from the heat. Let cool for 5 minutes.
Arrange the burrata on a plate and gently cut a slit down the center of each to expose the creamy interior. Top each ball of cheese with the caramelized onions. Garnish with orange zest and thyme leaves.
Serve with sliced baguette and orange slices.
